 Rosewood Hotel, London

Arrive at Rosewood London through an archway that opens into a grand Edwardian courtyard, in a little oasis of tranquillity unique among London luxury hotels.

It is the perfect start to a memorable stay in a timeless heritage hotel, set just steps from Covent Garden.  This hotel is one of the most comfortably relaxed hotels that I have visited in a long while.  Designed with a fusion of Far Eastern decor, mixed with a 1930’s twist and stunning soft floral displays, its simplicity makes for a very peaceful visit to London. There is a warm pleasing atmosphere in the bar that makes you feel at ease, the breakfast menu was superb, staff very attentive and most importantly the bedroom excellent. Sometimes you need a degree to negotiate your way around opening and closing curtains, working the TV, or even turning on a light switch – not so here.

Everything worked easily and was easy to find!  One of the nicest things was instead of the array of cushions scattered on a bed spread – here there was no bedspreads that others before had sprawled on, but your own clean duvet and large, differently shaped pillows, so the bed really felt like yours.  The duvet was fluffy, pillows excellent and the bed extremely comfortable.  The bathroom too was extremely pleasing, with the copper and beaten silver/metal theme from the reception echoed, with marble flooring, bath and walls complimenting it.  Certainly the Rosewood ticked all the boxes and the friendly staff were a lovely bonus.

The Café Royal, London

The moment you step off Regent Street you are whisked into calm and serenity.

Friendly staff take care of luggage, check-in takes two seconds and you are then accompanied in the beautiful original antique lifts that sweep you up to your room. On entering the Portland Room the impact is of stunning, simple, clean, and peaceful decor. You are given a guided tour of your room – do pay attention to ensure you enjoy it to its maximum, from the Nespresso Coffee Machine and complementary Butlers Pantry, location of hairdryer, electric curtains and even to how to work the TV remote!

Everything is so concealed to please the eye that a dustbin blends into the sink unit, a sink appears to have no plug, but it is all there and the impact is one of spaciousness and indulgence. The icing on the cake is the bed, pillows and wonderful Frette Linen which is incredibly comfortable and guarantees you a wonderful nights sleep.
